I belong to the Congregation of the Priests of the Sacred Heart of Betharram. Betharram is a small village and shrine to Our Lady about nine miles outside of Lourdes. Many people have heard of the Grottos of Betharram, but not so many about the shrine where our founder St Michael Garicoits brought our Congregation into being.
Volunteers are needed at Clayton for the following:
To join the counting teams.
To join the tea and coffee rota on Sunday after 10 am Mass.
To join the flower rota for 2019.
To join the rota to run the older children’s liturgy group (DBS check must be undertaken first) Please leave your details at the parish office if you can help in any way.
Samaritan’s Purse- Shoebox Appeal: Our Parishes are again taking part in the shoebox appeal. The postage to send the shoebox is £5. Please check the newsletter over the next few weekends for the date to return to Church. (More Shoeboxes will be available next week)
LinkLine Stamp Appeal: LinkLine would be very grateful for any donations of 2nd class stamps to help them to send out Christmas and birthday cards to their clients. We use around 250 stamps a year. Any support you may be able to offer us will be most welcome.
First Holy Communion Preparation: Please can parents of any children due to make their First Holy Communion in June who are not attending a Catholic Primary school, and attend Our Lady and St Werburgh/Our Lady & St John the Baptist parishes contact the parish office to fill in the relevant form.
The rota for the Clayton Parish Counting Teams for 2019 will be completed shortly. We are in need of volunteers to join the teams, having lost some long serving and loyal members this year. Full training will be given.
One or two volunteers would also be welcome if you could spare some time during the week to help with banking. For further information, please contact Kate Hagan via the Parish Office.
North Staffs LinkLine: Could you help us and join our other “Friends on the Phone”. We need volunteers to help us with this valuable service for older people and make a difference to their lives.
Can you spare 3 hours a week, particularly on a Friday Morning? Even if you can’t commit to every week but feel you would like to help please come and talk to us. There are volunteers at every mass who can tell you more about what it is like or you can contact Sue McKenna on Tel 710436, email email@example.com or leave you details with the Parish Office.
