Parish Priest: Father Anton Madej

Father Anton Medej, SCJ

I belong to the Congregation of the Priests of the Sacred Heart of Betharram. Betharram is a small village and shrine to Our Lady about nine miles outside of Lourdes.  Many people have heard of the Grottos of Betharram, but not so many about the shrine where our founder St Michael Garicoits brought our Congregation into being.

North Staffs LinkLine

Could you help us and join our other “Friends on the Phone”. We need volunteers to help us with this valuable service for older people and make a difference to their lives.

Can you spare 3 hours a week, particularly on a Friday Morning? Even if you can’t commit to every week but feel you would like to help please come and talk to us. There are volunteers at every mass who can tell you more about what it is like or you can contact Sue McKenna on Tel 710436, email sue@nslinkline.org.uk or leave you details with the Parish Office.

First Holy Communion Preparation

Please can parents of any children due to make their First Holy Communion in June who are not attending a Catholic Primary school, and attend Our Lady and St Werburgh/Our Lady & St John the Baptist parishes contact the parish office to fill in the relevant form.

Baby Loss Matters

Our parish is participating in Baby Loss Matters, an initiative by the national prolife charity Life, to create memorial spaces in churches across the country to commemorate the lives of those lost before, during or shortly after birth for any reason. A memorial space has been created in the side chapel at Clayton church and includes prayers and a small memorial tree for anyone who wishes to make use of them. Please add a heart to the tree, with a name, if you wish.

Lenten Appeal 2019

This year we will be collecting for Mary’s Meals. Mary’s Meals sets up school feeding programmes in some of the world’s poorest communities where poverty and hunger prevent children from gaining an education. Please save your loose change during Lent. It costs just £13.90 to feed a child for a whole school year. Collection boxes will be available next weekend.
